fairport77 Had seen Luke many years ago as a youngster and we thought he had something. Last night in Bexhill supporting Fairport I no longer thought I know this young man is the real deal and so talented A wonderful voice with a power and fragility to match. Excellent guitar work coupled with interesting and original songs Bought a CD but this new song was the star on the night and is just epic give him a listen , he should be and in my eyes is a star already Favorite track: Oh Channel.

'MOVING & PROFOUND THOUGHTS' - MARK RADCLIFFE, BBC RADIO 2

Living in Kent and so close to the English Channel, it’s something I have either gone under through the tunnel, or over on a Ferry, in the many times I have travelled to Europe to perform in the past few years.
Until recently I have not thought greatly about this body of water.
With the endless number of men, women and children braving the waters to get from Calais to the English coast, seemingly undeterred by the worsening weather, conditions and increasingly horrific consequences, I began thinking about how parents could explain to their children what they were trying to do for them, and indeed how they explain it to themselves.
I wondered how the channel is seen. It’s only about 22 miles across, people regularly swim it with no great fuss and maybe after a journey across countries of hundreds of miles, looking out from Calais on a clear day and spotting Dover in the distance, it must seem so close.
I then got to thinking of how parents might sing or pray to the channel as a living entity, with it being both ‘the holder of hope and dreams’ but also ‘the breaker of hearts’.
This song is about that.
